This piece was worked and reworked over and over again and I’ve spent most of time thinking about the role that mountains have played in my lie. My parents met on a mountain- my childhood was dotted with trip to this mountain and over that pass- summer, winter, fall… all filled with tree covered mountains up and down the west coast and those seemingly desolate peaks dotting the southwest. From jagged red rocks to moss covered logs- all these wild peaks have informed my life in ways I’m just beginning to understand. As strange as it sounds I think my life would be infinitely different if a love of these wild places hadn’t been a part of my early life.
